The first day of activities draws a crowd of 92,342 to the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2019™

  • At 8:00 a.m., the gates of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez opened to welcome thousands of fans, as the first day of activities of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2019™ got under way. A total of 92,342 fans filled the grandstands to kick off the F1®ESTA to the roar of the cars during the first practice session.

    Today’s schedule began at 10:00 a.m. and, after a couple of hours of rest, the drivers returned to the track for FP2. There has been a lot of talk about what Lewis Hamilton would need to secure the Drivers’ Championship for the third consecutive year at the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2019™, and today’s FP1 scenario would be ideal for him to do it, after he finished first with teammate Valtteri Bottas in fifth.

    On the weekend’s first day of action, the fans were also treated to a practice session featuring the young Latin American rising stars competing in the Formula 4 NACAM Championship, as well as the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Off-track, they were able to enjoy great food, merchandise, and many other activities the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2019™ has prepared to ensure everyone gets an amazing weekend.

    After today’s excitement, day two of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2019™ promises to be full of adrenaline, as we find out if Max Verstappen manages to prevail at the Mexican circuit once again, discover the fate of the two Mercedes drivers, and, of course, enjoy the performance of our fellow countryman Checo Perez.
