FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 2015® success keeps on going, now achieving a second international award from FIA Americas: “Promoter of the year” 2015
Federico Gonzalez Compean, Chief Executive of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO, was in charge of receiving the trophy granted by FIA Americas to Corporacion Interamericana de Entretenimiento (CIE).
This Saturday the FIA Americas Awards took place at the Hotel RIU in Panama City, event that recognizes the most remarkable in motor racing and road safety of all the American Continent.
The return of FORMULA 1® to our country has obtained great achievements and exceeded all expectations, after turning into an unforgettable event, the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2015® continues succeeding, this time with the recognition for “Promoter of the year”, an award that is granted for the first time in the history of FIA Americas Awards, taking into consideration quality of track, event planning, execution and logistic among others.
Federico Gonzalez Compean, Chief Executive of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO, received the prize and then stated: “Recent weeks have been very special for us, for they represent the time of reaping the benefits from lots of months of work. In CIE we feel very honored and proud that the return of FORMULA 1® to Mexico is bringing such satisfaction to our country, however it also represents a great challenge in order to fulfill 2016 expectations. I just want to thank all the Mexican audience we owe much of that success to the warmth and passion that Mexican fans demonstrated during the show, such environment can be only reached in our country”, said.
The return of the GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO was possible thanks to the cooperation of public and private sectors: to CIE, The Federal Government through the Ministry of Tourism, the Tourism Promotion Council and the Government of Mexico City.
The Chief Executive, took the opportunity to thank sponsors of the event: America Movil, Banamex, Coca Cola, Corona, Diageo and Santander as a main part of the success.
Rodrigo Sanchez, Marketing Director of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO, also attended the ceremony and said: “We are very excited to get this second award, in 2015 we set a high bar for 2016 and we hope to exceed it, that is why, since last year we began to work on the event for this one, we want to improve audience experience and we want the GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO to become a FORMULA 1® icon. On 2016 we will have the presence of new products and services which we will announce officially very soon, we have prepared a lot of surprises, so stay tuned” he concluded.
The FIA Americas Awards ceremony takes place every year since 2008 in Panama, where prizes are granted to the best drivers in junior and senior categories, Gold, Silver and Bronze Steering wheels; Gold, Silver and Bronze Belts; the “Fans Driver Award”, among others.
