Mexico’s wide offering of tourist activities and destinations continue to fascinate those who visit. For example, Mexico’s magical towns, a series of small destinations dotted around the country, guarantee to offer guests an unforgettable experience thanks to the magic that each one radiates through their architecture, cuisine and unique culture.

So, ahead of your visit to Mexico for Formula 1 Grand Prix, plan a short trip to any of the following enchanting destinations which are just a short distance away from Mexico City – home to the best race in F1:

  1. Huauchinango, Puebla. Under 2 hours away from Mexico City, visitors will find serenity in the rivers and waterfalls that surround this stunning town. Walking through Plaza de la Constitución will allow them to enjoy the delicious scent of roasted peanuts on their way to Huauchinango’s very own Asunción parish – the proud home of the largest dome in Latin America.Suggested places to visit: Necaxa Dam, Totolapa Falls and Salto Chico.
  2. Peña de Bernal, Querétaro. This town is a must see for hiking lovers from all over the world. However, not only is it a destination for those seeking adventure but it is also a haven for healing due to the holistic energy that it exudes. At 300 meters tall and weighing in at 20 million tons, Peña de Bernal, formed by the unstoppable force of volcanic lava, is recognized as the third largest monolith in the world.
  3. Cuernavaca, Morelos. It is known as the ‘City of eternal spring’. Its delicious gastronomy and colonial style architecture charms visitors, along with its beautiful landscapes. Cuernavaca has the Juárez Garden, a small square that houses a kiosk designed by Gustave Eiffel, the architect behind the famous Parisian monument named after him. Suggested places to visit: Borda Garden Museum, the cathedral and former convent of La Asunción, the Gardens of Mexico and The Palace of Cortés.
  4. Tepotzotlán, Estado de México. From sunrise to sunset this beautiful town will captivate its visitors with its ever changing shapes and enchanting scenery. In the evening, a visit to UNESCO World heritage sites, the National Museum of the Viceroyalty and the majestic Temple of San Francisco Javier are a must. Suggested places to visit: Handicrafts Square (Plaza de las Artesanías).

For all of these reasons, and many more – not least the award winning Formula 1 Grand Prix–, Mexico makes an incredible destination for an unforgettable vacation.
